Berks County Man Accused of Taking Part in Arson/Burglary Crime Circle
Three different people were arrested in relation to a series of burglaries and arsons at 27 different homes throughout Chester, Delaware and Montgomery Counties. According to law enforcement officials, one of these was a man from Berks County, Kevin Colosimo, who resides in Douglassville. He was arrested on the morning of Tuesday, February 3 along with Megan Gawel of Newark, Delaware and Ryan Nelsane, of Aldan in Delaware County.
The three people arrested were all charged with crimes including theft, arson, burglary and criminal conspiracy. The incidents occurred over a relatively wide geographic footprint, with specific charges related to incidents in Montgomery County cities like Limierick, Abington, East Norriton and Pottstown and Delaware County cities like Aston, Havertown and Swarthmore. Courts set bail for each of the accused at $1,000,000.
According to a presentation by a grand jury in Montgomery County, all of the homes targeted in the string of arsons and burglaries were unoccupied and were listed as being for sale, owned by either holding companies or banks. In each incident, the three defendants allegedly stole copper piping.
Investigators were able to find the suspects through the discovery of burglary tools, handwritten notes with burglarized home addresses and text messages on each of the defendants’ phones.
